Product details

The exquisite sculpture of the Water Moon Guanyin, which took a duration of 15 months to create, showcases an integration of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics, evoking the boundless charm of Eastern art. The front side presents the Water Moon Guanyin sculpture, while the back side features custom-engraved scriptures.

Water Moon Guanyin, also known as "Water Auspicious Guanyin" or "Water Auspicious Bodhisattva," is one of the most common representations among the thirty-three Guanyin statues. Adorned with a precious crown and adorned in elegant robes, Water Moon Guanyin exudes grace and tranquility. The half-closed eyes and the ethereal white veil that envelops her body create an elusive yet captivating aura, while the intricate and delicately crafted adornments exude exquisite beauty without being overly elaborate. The flowing garments give a sense of transcendence and otherworldliness.

This Water Moon Guanyin sculpture is the only piece in Ma Ning's repertoire that he personally completed in the entire process of carving and lacquering. Meticulously carved and intricately painted, the artwork breathes life into the image of Guanyin Bodhisattva. The artist's personal interpretation, infused with deep understanding of the prototype, not only fulfills the aspirations of Buddhist belief but also stands as an exquisite masterpiece in the history of art.
